Southland High School’s musical production of Lady Dither’s Ghost (Sherlock Holmes) was set in the Victorian time period in Britain. Jannel enjoyed the whole, old haunted house, ghost story and the fact that her character, Lady Violet, was married to the villain. See photos below. Photos courtesy of Christine Wik.
“The Magic Flounder” was only a town folk role as a mother of two children. However, the play was dedicated to the memory of Darren Lewis, a family friend that had died young and unexpectedly, and therefore had a lot of meaning to Jannel. See photos below.
The play “CSI: Neverland” was really loosely based off Peter Pan. However, Peter Pan was Peter Pantaloon and all the rest of the characters in the play had similar connections. Jannel was able to show off her British accent as Penelope Muffins otherwise known as Mary Poppins. See photos below.
Although playing Miss Robin in “Peter Rabbit and Me” was a supporting role Jannel landed on front page of the Austin Daily Herald. See photos below.
Spring of 2008, Jannel again lands a principal role in “Meet Three Goat’s Gruff.” Here, she got to show off her quirky side as the skinny younger Billy Goat. See photos below.
In 2008, Jannel finally lands her first lead role as the faerie Thistle in “The 13 Bells of Boglewood.” This role was made for Jannel and she loved the costume and characteristics of Thistle. See photos below.
After spending the summer of 2007 performing in multiple theatre productions Jannel was hooked on theatre. She decided to audition for Matchbox fall musical “Li’l Red.” Here she landed the role Rockin’ Robin. See photo below. Photos courtesy of Nate Howard Photography.
Summer of 2007, Jannel also auditioned for Matchbox Theatre’s summer theatre camp and production of “William’s Window.” She ended up being cast in three roles Titania and Hermia in “A Midsummernight’s Dream,” and Kate in “Taming of the Shrew.” See photos below.
